1. Prophet's for Today?

Any Prophets for Today? Does your church have a prophet? Most would say no, we just follow Jesus. That would be nice but Paul warns us about preaching another Jesus. Well it appears that God needs them today because again, many churches and minister's are not following his words in the Bible. Yes, Jesus put them in his church for today. Where are they? Here is God's statement in Proverbs Many minister's say "I have a vision ...... ". Are they prophets? Was it an open vision , or a dream that Joseph or Daniel interprets? When did it occur? There were many visions in the old and new testament but it appears that Daniel in the old and the Apostle John in Revelation had the biggest share of visions. Both referring to history and the future end time

Those that don't go to church probably heard of prophets and you may have seen the ones that call themselves such, you usually hear where they ended up real bad or dead. Prophets are chosen by God only. Many tried to run away but God wanted them to prophesy and they can't escape. I have checked out as many as I could and even on the Internet and there were some short range minor prophecies that only a few came true. You ask most preachers and churches about prophets today and they may say - there aren't any more. God done away with them after Jesus came. Others would lie and say no because a prophet's word exposes them. To take note on what the prophets do, I ran the search word on prophets from my software programs, so instead of displaying one verse at a time, they are all strung together. Scroll down and read these prophet verses, then come back here to continue. Let's see how the Bible mentions the prophets by these verses:

2. A Special Breed - The Prophet

Now we know how precious a prophet is. He will have dreams and visions but for our day, he must point to serve Jesus Christ - nothing else. Also, he must die and we are commanded not to listen to him. A true prophet must speak all that God command him or the prophet is in trouble. You heard of Jonah. So anybody anxious to be a prophet? Another easy sign to note - and many are missing it, the prophet, usually once in a while must speak to put away evil. If not heeded, that prophet will prophesy what the Lord will do for punishment. He will raise up enemies to attack his people. That sounds strange for us human minds but you know God boasts that he is a jealous God. Believe it. He also warns us in Chronicles and Psalms to do my prophets no harm so you know how extremely jealous he is over his prophets and even his anointed.

As a bonus, we are to believe his prophets, so shall we prosper. But there are many that will beg the prophet what to say such as prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits. So they know better but are trying to fell better by having the prophet tell how good they are. God's prophet are not stupid as they would fear God more than human beings. Jeremiah knew this and said God's people and priests love it. If the prophets so please the people, the prophets shall become wind, and the word {is} not in them. It looks as if that if he even does it once, the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

God said he sent unto you all my servants the prophets. Why would he stop now? He further states over and over, daily rising up early and sending {them}: Now the false prophets say sword and famine shall not be in this land, but God says by sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. Also, God admits that he himself is doing evil concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy {it} but he himself will repent of the evil that he thought to do unto them if that nation, against whom he has pronounced, turn from their evil. Isn't that Jesus on the white horse in Revelation 19:11?

3. Direct Confrontation Showdown - One on One

Another approach is to take direct confrontation with the prophet as they said, let us devise devices against Jeremiah because we still have other prophets and our priests will still read the law to us. We have counsel from other wise men so let's deride him, cuss him out and ignore his words. Finally, these other prophets become wicked such as God said saidI have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers... they speak a vision of their own heart, {and} not out of the mouth of the Lord. ... I have not sent these prophets... ". The prophets steal the word of God implanted into the believers because their prophecy dilutes or contradicts the real prophet's message. Then it gets worse, one speaking as a main prophet takes over such as Hananiah. Read all the verses in this confrontation in chapter 28 of Jeremiah. Hananiah prophecies more after Jeremiah had warned again that even before him, other prophets spoke to the people about the vessels returning back from Babylon and these prophets spoke both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. Hananiah rants on and even had Jeremiah temporarily agree with an Amen: the Lord do so it but warned again that this had failed before. This really encourages Hananiah, verses ommitted there, as he breaks the wooden yoke of Jeremiah and Jeremiah leaves. He later returns with the word that Hananiah was a deceiver, not sent by God and announced his death before the year was out. God was not done punishing Israel and you can't lie and say he was. God called it rebellion against him.

4. Direct Confrontation Showdown - One vs. Many

Even though this is out of order, we expose another direct confrontation of Elijah which most of you have heard. However, if not, I dedicated all of I Kings to Elijah ve the 450 Prophets of Baal. This is the classic of all confrontations and we would do injustice if we didn't show you all these verses. There is a double and triple meaning to this event which I will carry over to the Keys to the Kingdom. sermon. Adding a few comments here, notice even Elijah taunted them until they were so upset, they cried aloud, and cut themselves. This is the state one could become id taken over by the wrong spirit. Swearing you were right, there would be no help as your mind is seared. So, do it right from the beginning is my warning. It may be too hard or impossible to correct oneself later. Notice the confident that Elijah had. Notice also, they couldn't even offer a repentance, they were all slain after the people fell down and gave praises to the real God. This is the worst day false prophets could ever have. Will this happen again in our time?

He finally warns that don't let prophets deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. Because ye have said, The Lord hath raised us up prophets in Babylon. As always, his goal is " to return ye now every man from his evil way". If not, we even have no prophet left for the people as her prophets also find no vision from the Lord. Therefore, they must perish as quoted before? This happens because they have not discovered thine iniquity - a mark of the prophets from God. Now the prophets even do worse, " but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment". First they get your atention, promise good things and then put their burdens on them. False spirits want their warped worship also.

5. Later Old Testament Prophets - Same Story

Even Ezekiel warns the same messages - the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and {there is} no peace and setteth up his idols in his heart. Also, even said the Lord God, I the Lord have deceived that prophet. So God will allow this to go on even worse since no ones stands against the false prophets - sort of punishment back to the people for being deceived and ignorant and forgetfulness of God's word and finally back to prophet for the final and justified punishment because seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken. It's bad enough to spout off a lie but to say God said it - that's really doubling your troubles.

In Amos, God said I raised up of your sons for prophets ... and ye commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. ". And notice this verse by itself that ends the debates over prophets Amos 3:7 Even Micah was forced to say concerning the prophets that make God's people err, cry Peace - therefore, no visions but darkness, they shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets. A new slant from Micah - the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, {Is} not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us. Is this happening today too?

Zechariah refers to our hearts of stone that wouldn't hear the law, or today you might say that they refuse to receive all from Jesus that they may better obey his laws. He also references all the prophets before him God sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts. Then to wrap up the Old Testament, Malachi 4:5. Here we see that Malachi prophecies Elijah shall return. He was in John the Baptist, if they would have received it according to Jesus. They didn't and he appeared to Jesus in the transfiguration but will join with another prophet to be the two witnesses for the end time finale. If he doesn't, Malachi 4:6. The fathers here are the fathers of our faith - our foundation according to Ephesians 2:20. We should pray that God does send Elijah then. So not only believe there are prophets for today and later, we need a great one at the end and so pray that we have one.

6. New Testament Prophets

For the new testament, we have Jesus himself saying that he came to fulfill the law and the prophets and warning that false prophets come in sheep's clothing. Also he states, "He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; ". So he may be referencing the past but certainly the future. He also stated that the prophet's own country and household will not give a prophet honor. Even the Scribes and Pharisees were preparing the tombs for the prophets instead of promoting their rightful honor. Others even kill, crucify and scourge in your synagogues and persecute them everwhere. He warns about many false prophets. Luke references all the prophets in Luke 1:70. Jesus hints in Luke that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet but in the kingdom of God, least, in other words, all is greater than he. Who then is in the kingdom of God. Could string this search together and you will find that the Kingdom of God is within you - that is the Holy Ghost spirit of God that we seem to all loosely claim. Later for that. That means, born of Jesus is greater than John the Baptist. Well now, what about a modern day prophet that preaches Jesus. Obvious, this is as close to Jesus as we could get. So Elijah at the end time will be great but has the words of Jesus which will make him greater, even greater than when he was on the earth the first time. Notice in Luke 9:19, that who they thought Jesus was when Jesus asked who men thought he is/was.

Again in Luke, there is mentioned of all the slayed prophets but here God may avenge this blood from this generation. Also, all these prophets along with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob will be in the Kingdom of God but weeping and gnashing of teeth for those priests that rejected Jesus are rejected themselves and thrust out. Here is an astounding statement depicting who Jesus really is by Luke 13:34. Who sent the prophets out before Jesus walked the earth, God did. So who is speaking here - God through Jesus. This is one reason why Jesus said the Father and I are one. These are God's words who gathered her children as a hen does all throughout the history of Jerusalem, before Jesus. Even though thje law and the prophets were until John, then Jesus, every man presses into the kingdom of God - once he is shown the way. Still not has been told the way so again, prophets are used for this and other visions needed for the Church. Jesus fulfilled the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning him. Especially worth noting that Moses would expect his people to make the transition from him to Jesus by Acts 3:22, or be destroyed. Of course we know Jesus was probably the greatest of all prophets himself.

7. Christian Church Prophets

Now after Jesus, we have his Church and look at the prophets Judas and Silas running loose from Antioch. Also, here comes Agabus, which later prophecies to Paul even though Apostles were 1st and prophets 2nd, teachers 3rd then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Not everybody is all of these. In 1 Corinthians 14:29, we should have 2 or 3 prophets. Then we have the spirit of prophecy from others but those spirits are subject to the prophets in 1 Corinthians 14:32. Now it's possible that any man may think himself to be a prophet, here really should cross check his words with whatever Paul says. Maybe this is the other extreme, others all claiming to be prophets but not checking their words with not just Paul, but all the Apostles. Recall, we are all members of Christ's body on earth. The prophets are the eyes of his body.

In Ephesians 2:20, this is all our support, beliefs and our words to go by. Now today, besides using prophets for correction, we need them for deeper revelation that men of old could not understand and we may not either without the prophets and other Apostles because God's Spirit will reveal to them mysteries? Again, today we should have the office positions of the Church, say Jesus appointed board of directors in Ephesians 4:11

James recalls all the suffering that his brothers, the prophets went through, but he added a quality no one else did, prophets had patience with the people. Now Peter warned about false prophets and teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies. So if we do have false, Jesus has to have his true. Now the beloved John gives us more warnings than Peter. He says to check the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Later, he even refers to these as Anti-Christs.

8. End Time Prophets

In Revelation, Jesus warns us of prophetess that seduce in the Church as Jezebels. Now in Revelation 10:7, we have a must interesting statement. All the mystery of God should be finished when the voice of the seventh and last angel when he begins to sound. These mysteries were revealed to the servants the prophets. Now it couldn't be all the old prophets as they were sometimes curious themselves what their own prophecies and visions meant so here are the end time prophets really preparing us to know all things before Jesus comes back for his bride. They were mysteries earlier but not at the end. So now our last prophets also becomes a master teacher too. How nice that God will not leave us alone. However, these prophets also suffer because they tormented those with earthly minds. They gave gifts on the earth to celebrate the prophets death, but now God judges all and thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name.

At the very end, we have the one major false prophet, beast and the devil all together and in lake of fire tormented themselves. The messenger angel declares the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show John these things. So here is another hint, God's prophet's are all Holy men. The angel declares that he himself is but a fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets.

So God extends prophets from the old testament into the new and even into our future. Even Jesus knew he would have a rough time even in his own country. So Jesus' words must be true, the religious leaders were the ones rejecting him and John the Baptist. Paul also had this difficulty when he preached using Jesus' name. So, as for you Christians, you don't need to worry what your Pastor says, just believe Jesus. I couldn't believe this at first until I saw this over and over and now I accept this and go on.

9. Our USA Prophet Today

However, for the USA and our time, we have had a prophet for over 50 years as well as an evangelist having revivals in over 150 countries. Healed by Jesus when 11 years old now dedicatesd his life to Jesus. Not only preaching the depths of Jesus, but also signs that confirm his preaching. Why do his visions become reality, because he came out from the best revivals this country ever had. He is an old time evangelist that was birthed out of the real revivals in the 1940's when great men blazed the trail. God confirms the visions that are given because he confirms his words that are spoken. He has visions and prophecy on world events, church denominations, assisinations, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, blizzards, droughts, economics, volcanoes, train & plane crashes, reknown deaths, ministers to fail, wars and the first to prophecy Aids in this country and the Florida town he was prophecying that in was quarentened as soon as he was leaving. There is so much that could be told but simplist is to ask those that have been around him all his life. Now actually, he didn't see WTC 911 a few days or weeks before but one in his churches did. However, about 3 other of his prophecies came to pass during that time period. One old timer did remind him that he spoke of the New York Twin World Trade Towers being destroyed before they were even built. He did prophecy a day or two in advance when they first bombed the WTC garage in winter a few years ago that failed. He created a big stir on the west coast when he prophecied that Mt Saint Helens was to blow. In the late 1970's, ABC news on Sunday did a special on him during a bad heat and drought in Texas. He prophecied a relief - it was temporary and I saw the weather events that was not forecasted - it poured, I think about 4" which gave some temporary relief.

10. Some Prophetic Good News

Then there was Katrina and other hurricanes, so many called that I remember well as well as tidal waves. Also, hurricane Andrew and Mt. St Helens were strictly his. With this, he has prophecied a great revival coming to the US and great news too which is rare for a real prophet to do. Now other prophets are copying his patterns and maybe quoting his prophecies and great revival. This is confirmed as a sign when great healings have occured in his tent revivals. Then in foreign countries, even more miracles than in the USA. He went to India for over 10 years now look at their condition compared to 15 years ago. Now he said, the're too blessed. He is now in his early 70's so how much longer can he go? Recall the above verses, the country could become so bad that the propet could become mad. I never realized that we are so blessed to have a prophet. We should pray that he keeps strong and preaches right and stays healthy. If he himself turns aside his faithm, then we have a danger that he himself would have no vision from the Lord. After him, who could take his place? Also, maybe he will live to see all the remaining prophecies be fulfilled. There are many more pending that are not mwntioned here. One should just go and hear them for themselves and ask others that have been around for years and heard more than I have although I have heard many tapes.

11. Previous Prophecies

For an example, way back in I think 1960's, our USA prophet warned them about a Huricane Camille, of course Andrew and Katrina too. However, with Camille, the Pastor of a particular church told his congregation that they wouldn't have to worry, God would take care of them. So they listened to their Pastor but he took off inland without telling anybody so many died from his congregation. This is the same thing when you see the churches ripped up by tornadoes. They all say - we will still have service somewhere rather than pray - Dear Jesus, what did we do wrong? I have seen so many of these events over and over, it would take pages. Others recall their own versions locally and I have seen a few prophecies fulfilled locally when he was in this Philly area, which isn't much.

12. Rejecting Prophets

Now the first things Christians will do if you mention prophets is mention about the verse warning of false prophets. This is true but we should know how to tell if false. If their preaching don't match the Bible, then they will fall soon. You really have to know the Bible to know them for real. Jesus said that they would deceive the elect if possible.

Usually their first mistake is to reject a message that you can read on this website. It is called Keys to the Kingdom. If they make mistakes on this intrepertation, they will make mistakes later also. They may have some prophecies to lift us up because they preach Jesus, but they won't be able to come into their full prophetic ministry. You recall all the ministers that are falling and also the big ones on TV. God prophesied through our prophet that God would bring down. Named them as I saw our prophet cut down branches of a pretty tree with an axe and named them one at a time in his tent meeting. I think I have discoved why.

13. Almost Blaspheming ?

Today the preachers have the people believing, and they have stated, they are spirit filled. Beware of both. I know I'm not spirit filled yet and only Jesus had the full stature. If we are spirit filled, we would be doing the works of Jesus and greater works.

This is a dangerous claim as they may be blaspheming the Holy Ghost but in a reverse analogy - but I won't explain that here now. It is also a sin that is unpardonable. Recall, the description is Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. Are they living Holy that make this claim? Be very careful. Also, do they take to the words of a true prophet?

14. Follow Jesus or a Prophet?

That seems simple enough - Jesus? However, there should be no disagreement so on better know Jesus' words well. They say, "we won't follow man (meaning a prophet), we will follow Jesus." That's right, they are following another Jesus Paul warned about. They would be right if they had never gone to church and read the Bible and prayed. God wouldn't mislead them. However, those that made that statement where usually taught by someone. Therefore, I say, take your eyes off your man (preacher) and follow our Prophet. You would say not Jesus, yes because they have the wrong one. Look what Paul said: Follow me as I follow Jesus, the beggars, Peter said - Look on us. Jesus said, if they don't follow whom I send, they aren't following me. After the correction, then they can turn their eyes back to the real Jesus.

15. Do we Dwell On this Earth?

Today we Christians complain and struggle on earth as if Jesus is supposed to make our human ill natured happy to do what we want. Our USA prophet and evangelist told us years about drugs being sold in the street like candy, ministers rejected it. How about that he saw people buying so much with credit cards and he would yell - get out of debt, make your life simple. Jesus also warned - don't let your heart become overcharged with the cares of this life. Then a recently fulfilled prophecy, people buying houses more than they could afford and job and economy fails. This is so serious, and it surprised me that today - repossesing and banks going broke borrying money abroad to stay afloat and now we have foreign investors. An international newspaper on our national TV news gave headlines - USA for Sale.

We better recall that our life down here is just a vapour and that we're supposed to dwell in heavenly places. We have had our party from the blessings our missionaries and believers gave to us from this country, now let's get serious as Jesus and eternity is closer to us now than we think. I hope I'm not too late with this as I have much to do as you will see later.
